Make Recycling Easier

I read an interesting post over at Treehugger and I can certainly relate to it.

Just got off the phone with a customer service rep, from our metro (Minneapolis Solid Waste and Recycling) recycling program and have to say I’m almost ready to throw in the towel and throw everything in the trash. We’ve been recycling for about 15 years now, and have lived in quite a few places, from rural to suburban, to urban and I’ve never encountered so much resistance.

I actually read that locally over 70% of recycling ends up in the landfill anyways because of limited government support (Toronto, Canada).

There was a good reply and I guess there are some states that take recycling seriously.

The county I live in accepts and recycles all types of plastic (yes, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and even 7) and from a single-stream as well (all types are accepted into a single bin without having to separate by type.  Is Knoxville, Tennessee really that far ahead of the rest of the country?

Looks that way to me!
